Over the past year, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has made a significant impact across the Second Life grid, particularly within the fashion and modeling communities. Our staff and models at SL Fierce have had a lot of fun experimenting with AI to see what it can create—it has truly opened up a whole new realm of possibilities.

At the same time, we recognize the immense power of AI and how easily it can be misused. Using AI to add a background or logo to an SL photo or store advertisement may seem harmless—and I’ve certainly used it myself to fix minor flaws that would have otherwise taken hours to correct in GIMP. However, we’ve recently seen AI used to alter avatars and products in ways that can mislead consumers about what they are actually purchasing (always try a DEMO first!).

While we respect each individual’s choice to use AI, at SL Fierce we deeply value the incredible talent of our team—our amazing photographers, designer partners, and top-notch models. We never want to detract from or misrepresent the genuine art and fashion they work so hard to create.

Moving forward, the staff at SL Fierce will do our best to minimize the use of AI in our content. Whenever AI is used, we commit to being fully transparent and upfront with our readers.
